Scrum Master

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate 1-3 team(s) towards successful product delivery, and client satisfaction: help the team(s) focus on creating high-value Increments that meet the Common Definition of Done
  • Support the Scrum team(s) with the Sprint cycles and ceremonies
  • Help the team(s) track and remove Sprint impediments and blockers by chasing information/people when needed
  • Shield the team from outside distractions and interference
  • Coordinate with Product Owner and Endava Scrum team(s) to ensure just in time backlog readiness
  • Help the team adapt and improve agile sizing to improve predictability
  • Organise, drive and facilitate Backlog Refinement and Sprint Planning ceremonies
  • Ensure that items in the Sprint are estimated, and velocity is measured
  • Organise, facilitate and attend Sprint Demo
  • Organise Sprint Retrospective to capture feedback from the team and help facilitate improvements
  • Be the voice for the team at Scrum of Scrums
  • Help coordinate with other teams around any dependencies and the progression of work
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem-solving
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, transparency and conflict resolution
  • Contribute to Local Agile Community by delivering presentations, Case Studies, developing other Scrum Masters

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Excellent understanding of Agile principles and Scrum software development lifecycle
  • Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least 2 years in a software development team
  • Exceptional ability to apply all Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Exposure to external stakeholders, ability to build networking and interactions
  • Exceptional abilities to collaborate with Product Owner, Business Analysts, Projects Managers, Development and Test Managers, Architects
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Structured and organised, able to manage workload and handle conflicting priorities
  • Excellent communication and coaching/mentoring skills, ability to articulate technical and non-technical issues
  • Highly supportive and team player who demonstrates a proactive attitude
  • Responsive, assertive and capable to drive continuous improvement
  • Ability to work in a fast-growing environment
  • Passion about sharing knowledge and best practices
  • Ability to work in virtual teams and matrix organisations
  • Willingness to travel
  • Fluent English - written and spoken

 

Additional Information

WOULD BE A PLUS

  • Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or other leading Agile certification
  • Experience in ensure clear expectations setting, harmonisation in co-planning, cross-team coordination, cohesive tech solution, responding to change for connected teams/products
