Senior Java Developer

Development - Java
 
 

Responsibilities

  • Designs, estimates, and implements technical solutions for medium/high complexity applications
  • Participates actively in all phases of application development lifecycle
  • Collaborates with various project stakeholders to provide support for clarifying requirements, processes, architecture, and priorities
  • Recommends and promotes IT industry standards, tools, practices (Clean Code, TDD, DevOps, etc.) to achieve well-engineered software products
  • Proposes improvements and escalates risks/issues related to development activities
  • Participates in the review of the work done by development team members
  • Learns and applies new technologies, practices, and tools as appropriate to the project
  • Participates in internal and external tech communities, events
  • Shares experience and knowledge gained from projects
  • Writes extensive unit and integration tests if the project requires it
  • Writes deployment pipelines for lower level environments and performs DevOps related activities for system maintenance.
  • Is comfortable working on a position and with the responsibilities of Senior Java Developer, despite past experiences in leading positions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 6+ years of experience with Java coding
  • Spring (Core, Boot, Web, Data, AOP, Transaction Management)
  • Persistence tools and ORM (Hibernate, Jooq, Querydsl, Spring JDBC template)
  • HTTP protocol, web services (REST, SOAP) and best practices
  • Data Management tools (Relational/nonRelational/inMemory DBs, Message Brokers)
  • Experience in developing applications deployable in AWS, Azure or GCP cloud.
  • Familiar with AWS, Azure or GCP application services
  • Dynamic infrastructure tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Service Provider)
  • Coding at high quality applying Design Patterns and SOLID principles
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and culture
  • Agile SCRUM/KANBAN experience
  • Knowledge of the following libraries and toolkits represents a big plus: rxJava, Spring Reactive (Flux), Reactor, Akka.
