Responsibilities

Project context: The project is run with an important multinational investment bank and consist of administering and enhancing a very important data platform from his IT landscape.

 

Activity description: the client’s data platform consists of Apache Kafka-based system for real-time data processing, and Hadoop (big data) for historical analytics and reporting purposes.

The main activity of the project team is to manipulate (transform) and bring data from various external systems to this Kafka & Hadoop platform (configuration & installation).

 

Qualifications and Experience

Must have:

  • Hands on experience with java applications, troubleshooting and debugging
  • Hands on experience in scripting (Bash, Python)
  • Good verbal and written presentation/communication skills and strong organization skills
  • Readiness to take responsibilities
  • Willing to learn fast new technologies  
  • High autonomy in doing work activities

Should have:

  • Technically hands on with exposure to real time processing technologies (Apache Kafka, RabbitMq, ActiveMq)
  • Technically hands on with exposure to big data technologies, Cloudera Hadoop components such as HDFS, Impala Hue, Hive
  • Technically hands on with exposure to ETL systems
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka Confluent product
  • Experience using DevOps toolsets like Jira, Git, Jenkins, Ansible

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience with Qlik Replicate
  • Hands-on experience in Java programming language
  • Knowledge of enterprise release management process (ITIL)
  • Knowledge of Apache Spark
  • Agile methodology
