Senior Data Engineer / DBA

Responsibilities

  • Understand the database needs of the applications and optimize the capabilities;
  • Take part in schema design and query tuning for applications;
  • Maintain database performance and capacity planning;
  • Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures.
  • Write documentation and collaborate with technical peers online;
  • Offer advice, support and mentorship to team members.

 

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking to expand our team with open, thoughtful and adaptable colleagues who have 8+ years of working experience with the following:

  • Database development and/or DBA experience with Mongo DB and Oracle DB;
  • High availability solutions, replication topologies, fast-failover setup and clustering setup;
  • Implement changes such as indexes to a large-scale database;
  • Turn MongoDB configuration, queries, and indices in large scale-high databases;
  • Work on multiple systems and components simultaneously in various configurations;
  • Perform high quality work both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environment;
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery plans.

 

Experience with the following is considered a plus:

  • Database deployment technologies such as Liquibase and associated DevOps integration;
  • Microsoft SQL server and Postgres DB experience on cloud environments;
  • Continuous delivery: Docker, Kubernetes;
  • Continuous integrations: Jenkins;
  • Agile methodologies Scrum/Kanban;
  • Cloud experience - AWS.
