Junior Environmental Specialist

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that existing Environmental Management System (EMS) processes are followed & refined
• Provide support to Environmental Manager for the roll-out of EMS and ISO 14001 certification across locations.
• Ensuring new EMS processes are defined and rolled out as per need.
• Maintaining accurate records of EMS implementation, and maintaining operation and inspection logs.
• Proactively identify, evaluate, and propose opportunities for improvement of EMS processes and procedures. 
• Facilitate workforce planning in relation to environmental management processes across teams. 
• Ad Hoc-Data Analysis and Reporting.
• Work with DU leadership and facility management teams to deliver on environmental objectives and action plans. 
• Provide support to the Endava stakeholders in the wider Endava context to successfully deliver client requests for information related to Endava’s environmental credentials.
• Provide support to Environmental Manager for ensuring Endava’s compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and international treaties.
• Monitor and review environmental performance and EMS performance regularly against KPIs, reporting results to Environmental Manager.
• Support with environmental communications, relevant award submissions, and internal and external promotion of environmental programs.
• Perform related field work, conduct site assessments, and produce reports on findings, as required.
• Liaise and share knowledge with Endavans as appropriate.
• Support ad-hoc projects.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Experience

• 1-3 years experience in an Environment or Environmental Sustainability role.
• Experience active engagement on environmental issues as part of an organization’s staff.
• Experience in handling complex data sheets and good numeracy skills.
• Experience in providing statistical analysis and performance reporting on environmental KPIs.
• Environmentally literate
• Analytical skills
• Attention to details
• Excellent skills in using online collaborative tools.
• Proactive attitude and very good people and process focus
• Reporting skills
• Project management/Project Accounting.
• Work efficiently with people: listen, engage, negotiate. Basic soft skills are key to acting successfully in the role.
• Problem-solving mindset, teamwork, time management, and creative thinking.
• Acts with integrity and upholds all of Endava’s values – a team player, who can work in collaboration and is enthusiastic and supportive.
• Experience with implementing an Environmental Management System in general and aligned with ISO 14001 standard would be an advantage.
• Alternatively, being highly motivated to learn and work on an ISO 14001 standard EMS is necessary.
• Previous experience in working for an IT company would be an advantage.
