Defect Manager



• Lead and Manage Defect Review calls for top priority projects
• Establish Defect Review Board meetings
• Ensure the ease of adoption of Defect Management standards by conducting workshops .
• Establish estimation guidelines for Defect Management tasks with Engagement & Support Team.
• Create Best Practice documentation.
• Increase the presence of Defect Review
• Establish Defect Metrics Framework
• Establish publishing of Defect Metrics to various Project Teams at a designated cadence
• Support data collection for Adoption Metrics.
• Automate defect metric collection using Excel Macros
• Constantly review Quality Center for infractions to the Defect Management standardization (SLA’s , Defect life cycle & Root Cause Analysis )
• Identify POC's for defect changes and updates and weekly follow-ups as needed
• Standardized email templates for effective communication
• Support all EQA teams in adoption of the Defect Management Standards
• Continued communication within the Defect Review process to ensure efficiency in Defect Management process delivery in a structured approach
• Increase the presence of Defect Review
• Increase the presence of Defect Review Board meetings


Qualifications and Experience

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to interact with various levels within the company.
• Possess the ability to lead and steer defect management meetings to achieve actionable outcomes.
• Possess good working knowledge of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
• Demonstrate experience of working in high pressure environments with strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to manage repeatable standard processes along with an ability to find, own and resolve ad-hoc issues.
• This role requires the candidate to be an excellent self-starter and be proactive and creative in identifying and clearing obstacles that may delay the defect resolution process.
• The candidate must have the ability to adapt and learn from other extended team members and have the ability to establish strong relationships with cross functional teams and Rogers partners. Have the ability to leverage those relationships for the purpose of influencing where appropriate and resolving any conflicts which may arise.
• Ability to explain technical processes and articulate knowledge of the Defect Management process to a wide audience.
• High comfort level of MS Office and experience with Atlassian Jira
