Responsibilities

  • To take full responsibility for the definition, documentation, fulfilment, delivery and successful completion of complex projects (typically >12 months, with significant business, political, or high-profile impact, and high-risk dependencies), to ensure that realistic project, quality, change control and risk management processes are maintained including revenue and cost forecasting.
  • To appoint, monitor and control resources, revenue and capital costs against project budgets and manage expectations of all project, client and internal management stakeholders.
  • You will be expected to fill clients with a high level of confidence in our service capabilities and to contribute to the growth of assigned accounts.
  • The role of test manager is intended to be a key contributor to the creation and organic growth of this new capability. They will be expected have strong leadership and mentoring skills, and will be responsible to help develop and mentor junior members of the team. The team will look to drive test automation adoption across our clients by engaging in short term projects to resolve issues.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • We are looking for a Test Manager to take ownership of an international client test delivery programme, establish strategic relationships with stakeholders internally and externally and to commercially manage the account successfully.
  • Oversee and lead the development of testing strategies, skills and capabilities into all testing phases of the project.
  • Develop overall test strategy, test estimates and plan the testing effort and strategy required for each application/project based on the development approach and timeline.
  • Suggest test process improvements based on incident trends.
  • Devise options for achieving targets when progress is not as intended.
  • Maintain strong relationships with participating teams to ensure effective engagement practices.
  • Lead and develop a skilled, motivated and cohesive team by providing effective direction, coaching and motivation.
  • Manage project and release interdependencies to ensure Project Managers are fully informed of testing issues and options.
  • Directly and through influencing team leadership, ensure the testing service methodology is used appropriately in all releases.
  • Measure and monitor progress using established processes to ensure that the testing phases are delivered on time, within budget and to an agreed level of quality.
  • Produce or coordinate production, review and sign-off test deliverables – test approach/ strategy, master test plan, test environment request, test execution schedule, test case, traceability matrices and test summary report as appropriate.
  • Monitor and control tests being performed on all projects; producing test reports of progress against time and quality, defects severity, distribution and priority rating, impact assessments, trends over the project etc.

RECOMMENDATIONS EXPECTED:

  • Decisions relating to Quality Assurance and Test Plan.
  • B.Sc. in Computer Sciences with certifications.
  • Must have good knowledge of industry best test practice on automation.
  • Technical background, with experience in one of the following technologies: Java, C#, Python
  • A minimum of 10 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in managing large complex business systems in enterprise testing domain
  • Ability to attain results, convey a sense of urgency and drive issues to closure, persists despite obstacles and opposition, sets high standards of performance and pursues challenging goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics.
  • Focus on the end user’s or customer’s needs; ability to set expectations and understand end user behavior.
  • Proven experience in managing large team of technology professionals.
