Motivation has been a hot topic for quite a while now and there’s no wonder why. We all want to find that drive that makes us strive while staying passionate. But all those 10 steps to success kind of recipes, although providing some good inputs, don’t really trigger a change in the right direction.Dragoș is a graduate of the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programme of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a PhD student in communication science at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies.
He was the communication consultant of the European Commissioner for Regional Policy, has trained over 1,000 managers in public speaking, storytelling and interpersonal communication in Europe and Asia and has received The Best Training of the Year Award at the Business Edu Gala in 2010.

THE EIGHT HUMAN BASIC NEEDS
According to the Process Communication Model, developed by Dr Taibi Kahler, each personality type has one or two associate basic needs. When we don’t meet our needs positively, we try to meet them in a negative way, which leads to self-defeating and destructive behaviours. In this talk, Dragos will explain how to keep our batteries charged and better manage stressful situations by learning to meet our needs in a positive manner.
Alin Uhlmann Useriu is the President of Tasuleasa Social Association. After learning about volunteering in Germany he came back and established a real volunteering and mentoring school in Romania. In the Calimani mountains, together with his Tasuleasa team he likes to say that he is planting more than trees, he is planting ideas.
From helping flood victims to Calimani mountains administration projects, his association’s actions were focused on environment, social issues and education. The widest spread projects are: the Pedagogical Forest (which is unique in Romania), the afforestation campaigns (during the latest campaign 10 hectares of trees were planted, with the help of 1200 volunteers, in one day), Via Maria Theresia Marathon, the Mountaineering School and the Christmas Truck.
More than 40.000 volunteers were involved in the initiative of the association, during the 17 years of activity, learning through hands on experiences what environment protection means, how to organise and run a project and why it’s important to care about the ones around you.

TO CHANGE ROMANIA FOR THE BETTER TOMORROW, WE NEED TO CHANGE MENTALITIES TODAY
If you want to set up some expectations for a group, you need to start by investing education in that group. Whether it is environment protection education, knowledge about project management or leadership, the easiest way to teach somebody is by the power of example, showing them how to implement an action, encouraging them to focus their energy on what matters, to look for solutions and to acknowledge the results, even the ones that are less expected. Cheer up, if it was easy everyone could do it!
Tibi Useriu is the 6633 Arctic Ultra Marathon double champion. After being the first Romanian to win the 566-km race in 2016 beyond the Polar Circle, he came back in 2017 to defend his title. He won again, by finishing the route in a 14 hours shorter period than in 2016.
He overcame his personal history that includes 9 years of incarceration in a maximum-security prison in Europe and a childhood with shortages and hardships difficult to imagine, through hard work and sport. He believed that you can free yourself from your past, by acknowledging it, and so, the dark times of his life became public in the book “27 steps”, a volume for which the first edition was sold out in a few days.
He is now the motor force behind Via Maria Theresia Marathon, one of the most complex mountain trail run competition in Romania, through which he promotes sports and environment protection.
