FAQ

Can I participate as an individual?
Only team participation (2 to 5 members/team) is accepted for this hackathon. If you don’t have a team yet, let us know how you can contribute and we will do our best to connect you with people/teams sharing a similar idea.

Who can participate in this Hackathon?
This Hackathon is open for all in the community, whether you are a developer, UI designer, tester, entrepreneur or a responsible citizen interested in tech and eager to get involved in the future of our city

Is this Hackathon an overnight event?
Yes, this is an overnight hackathon and the venue will be open throughout the night of the hackathon. We will provide relaxation and rest spaces, should you need to catch some ZzZ’s. Food and beverages will be available throughout the entire event.

Is food provided?
Yes. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, unlimited snacks and beverages are provided!

What should I bring to the Hackathon?
Laptop with power cable and other peripheral accessories and anything you need to keep yourself comfortable. 

How many judging rounds are there?
There will be one judging round in the final part of the Hackathon. Each team will have to pitch their idea in front of a jury on Sunday and aim to allocate15-20 minutes per pitch.

What are the judging criteria?
Projects will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

 ■  Proof of Concept demonstrates the practicality of the idea
 ■  Supported by a valid business case
 ■  The quality of the overall presentation
 ■  Alignment with technology trends
 ■  Innovative approach

More information on the evaluation criteria will be provided to the teams selected to enter the Hackathon.

What are the prizes?
Each member of the team will earn a prize as per the following:

 –  1st Place – 3D Printers
 –  2nd Place – Smart Watches
 –  3rd Place – IOT Kits
 

Faq

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) OWNERSHIP

Who owns my project and IP?
All teams outside of Endava retain ownership of what they have created during the Hackathon. You can choose to make your code available as open source to provide a way for other people sharing your vision to contribute to your project, however choosing to do so is entirely up to you. 

MENTORSHIP
What kind of support will I get until the Hackathon?
After the registration closing date, we aim to arrange a pre-event with the organizers and technical experts to validate your idea and approach in order to ensure you get the most out of this experience. Should you require further support, we will do our best to provide it based on needs.
