Petrascu has been Head
of People Development and Recruitment (PDR) for Managed Service Delivery (MSD)
for over three years in Endava. During this time she experienced a steep career

the good side of each situation. Find out how fitness contributed to her

What can you tell us about your career path within Endava?
I left consultancy over three years ago to join Endava as the Head of People Development and Recruitment for MSD, a job that did not exist before in the company. Ever since, it has been a long road paved with exciting challenges, starting from building the PDR team and continuing with putting processes in place or adapting the Group ones to the MSD specifics and working with different teams across multiple locations. From everything that I do, what I enjoy the most is the rapid paced environment and working with people, as they really make a difference in my opinion.
You had quite a steep path along the years, clear goals and the will to achieve everything you set your mind to. What do you think drives and guides you in your career?
motivates me most at work is accepting new challenges. The quote that had the biggest impact on my
life so far and that I can easily relate my work to is that everyone is always
one decision away from a totally different life.
I also think that being part of a wonderful team made up of beautiful, authentic people, keeps me going and growing. I can honestly say that no day resembles the one before.
Being Head of the People Development and Recruitment Department surely comes with a lot of challenges and responsibility. What was the most important lesson you learned over these years?
I have learned to stay positive and always focus on the good side of each
situation. Most of all, I have learned not to give up. I think my colleagues
would describe me as a fighter, who manages at the same time to be caring and
supportive and as a person who always smiles, never forgetting to keep the
bigger picture in mind.
What can you tell us about your life outside of work?
the simple things in life. I love being surrounded by genuine, authentic people
with a very good sense of humour. I am a food, coffee and travel addict; I
prefer seaside to mountains, dogs to cats and am very keen on reading and
However, if it comes to the hobby that shaped me the most, I will mention fitness. What started out as a simple passion became something that nowadays defines me to a certain extent, as I am both a part-time fitness instructor, and a former Body Fitness competitor.
Fitness competitions made me realise that I can do whatever I dream of, giving me at the same time self-confidence and discipline, virtues I could easily extrapolate to my job. I will never try to convince people to do sports, but I will always talk to them about the importance of pursuing and chasing their dreams, whatever that means in their job. Practicing sports reminded me of the importance of being humble no matter the results and let actions speak for themselves. Last, but not least, I learned that failures make us strong and we should not be afraid to show who we really are. There is a quote I like – “What makes you vulnerable makes you beautiful. There is a word for it: authentic”.
If you were to start work at Endava tomorrow, what would be that one piece of advice you would give to yourself?
Get the most out of the journey, connect with people, take one day at a time, reinvent yourself, work and never forget to have fun.
